Watershed Project Coordinator Job
Opening
Position Summary
The Project Coordinator will serve as the technical lead on watershed
projects undertaken by the AACD and will oversee the grant-related
paperwork related to assigned projects. This position leads fulfillment
of technical responsibilities on projects and is responsible for meeting
reporting requirements on all projects. In addition, the Project
Coordinator provides important in-house technical coordination and
assistance to answering questions from members and partners.
This position is 90% funded through grants and agreements. The
Project Coordinator assists in development, writing and submittal of
proposals for grants and agreements. This is a part time position with
flexible working hours.
Major Responsibilities
- Assume the technical lead for assigned projects. Provide
technical guidance and input as well as, when necessary, negotiate with,
secure and oversee contractors who work on projects.
- Understand and fulfill all reporting responsibilities related to
projects.
- Work with Program Administrator to ensure information needs for
projects are met.
- Keep Program Administrator informed of project progress,
challenges and resolutions.
- Answer technical questions for AACD members and partners.
- Identify grant opportunities and assist in preparation and
submittal of proposals and related budgets.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
Organizational Relationships
The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Program Administrator.
This position will work with all AACD staff, particularly the Program
Administrator to ensure accurate, reliable information is distributed
from the AACD. The Program Administrator will interact, as needed, with
AACD Board members, member and partners that call, email or visit the
AACD.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years experience in agronomy,
natural resources, environmental science or related field.
- Familiarity and experience with a variety of agricultural conservation
concepts, watershed concepts and procedures.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical material in an easily
understandable way to a variety of audiences.
- Experience working on federal- and state-funded grant projects.
- Skilled at multi-tasking and managing several projects at once.
Organizational skills are a must.
- Must be responsible, punctual, detail-oriented and able to work
independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access
and Outlook.
