Essay and Poster Contests
The theme for both contests is the 2010 Soil Stewardship theme
"Conservation Habits =Healthy Habitats." Information on this theme can
be found at
. The essay contest is
only open to children or grandchildren of Arkansas district directors or
employees of the district. They must be a 2010 graduating senior
enrolling in college in 2010.
The essay must be 500 words or less. Please notify us if you have
someone that plans on submitting an essay.
We must have them graded and the 1st place winner mailed to South
Central C.D. Secretary in Louisiana postmarked no later than June 29th.
First place winner for 2009 received $500.00 and second place
received $250.00. Both winners were children of district employees.
Winners are submitted to South Central where they are eligible for a
$300.00 scholarship.
The cutoff date to enter the essay contest is a June 25th postmark.
