Attended the quarterly commission meeting to provide updates on AACD
activities

Arkansas Watershed Coalition
Established a new coalition, elected officers and secured a 319 Grant
for a
Information Clearinghouse website, regional workshops and direct

Met with Potlatch to discuss the feasibility of a statewide biomass

Held 1st statewide bioenergy conference (March 30, 2006 Little

Attended the ASU Biomass Conference (April 25, 2006 Jonesboro, AR)
Attended the U of A Biomass Conference (August 25, 2006 Little

Forestry Outreach for Women
Held a statewide conference for women in conjunction with the Women
in Ag Conference (March 6, 2006 Hot Springs, AR). Provided financial
support to implement the conference.
Wal*Mart Sustainability Program
Attended meetings and participated in bi-monthly teleconference
Governors Agriculture Breakfast
Meet at 7:00am monthly to review issues impacting Arkansas
agriculture
Arkansas Farm Bureau
Presented information to the AFB Environmental Issues Committee (May

Met with their Non-point Source Water Committee (Feb. 2, 2006

Administer the 25% cost-share for the Arkansas Wildlife Habitat
Enhancement Program, Quail Special Project & Quail Focal Area for the
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission
Crittenden County Conservation District
Assisted with administration of an AR Highway Dept. grant for the
construction of the Marion Lake Trail.

Arkansas Watershed Advisory Group Conference (Nov. 3,

Arkansas Water: Preparing Local Leaders for Water Challenges
(Nov. 17, 2006 LR)
Arkansas Dept. of Environmental Quality participated
in numerous meetings of the Triennial Review of the State Water Quality
Standards, most particularly Extraordinary Resource Waters. Made
numerous contacts with districts to encourage them to write letters and
attend public hearings. Attended several hearings on behalf of the
districts.
Arkansas Association of RC&D Councils assisted in
the planning and development of the Noah II Poultry Litter Energy
Conversion Project. Continue to assist in securing locations for the
Noah II unit demonstration sites.
AgHeritage Leadership Conference participated in a
day long meeting focusing on the economic future of Arkansas agriculture
and a national perspective.
4th Biennial Lonoke Farm Field Day (UAPB) attended a
morning conference highlighting demonstration projects that may have a
significant impact of irrigation water. (August 24, 2006 Lonoke,
Arkansas)

Monroe Samuel Forestry Clinic
State Forestry Clinic (April 6, 2006 White Oak State Park, Camden,
AR)
Cash prizes are awarded to the winning students, T-shirts and
trophies for the winning teams.
SC NACD Southern Regional Forestry Contest (May, 2006 Ferndale 4-H
Center)
State Forestry Planning Committee Meeting (Dec. 7, 2006 Camden, AR)
Youth Conservation Workshop
Week long workshop (June 11 16, 2006 Blanchard Springs Park, Mt.
View, AR)
Sponsor two $500.00 scholarships to the high scoring students
Envirothon
Judged at area contest and continue to provide financial support to
state group
Sebastian County Conservation Education Program
Assisted as needed and provided financial support for two years
($5,000/yr)
Secured 319 Grant for Conservation Education K-3 Curriculum and
contracted with
Sebastian County for its development
Dave Ferguson Scholarship
Continue to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship for a student based on essay
and oral presentation
