Grazing Field Day
Pat McGary Farm
June 22, 2023

Heber Springs, Arkansas

You are invited to a FREE Grazing Field Day at Pat McGary's Farm located on 144 Sexton Creek Road, Heber Springs, Arkansas on June 22, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

Pat and his wife Lavelle started their farm in 1975 with 11 cows and have built their herd through Red Angus cross bred with Beef Master and Red Brangus. The farm has 156 acres of pastureland with 1 or 2 cows and yearly calves running per acre.

Pat will give a presentation on the different practices that he has implemented through the years. There will be discussion on a daily rotational grazing system for more productive hay growth and utilization. A demonstration of fencing and watering systems will be set up to view and discuss as well.

Cleburne County District Conservationist, Aaron Shelton will give a presentation on Cost Share Programs through Natural Resource Conservation Service.

Cleburne County Extension Agent, Amy Heck will also be present and available for questions.

A meal will be served but no pre-registration is necessary so bring your lawn chair and join us.
